Jam time with Daddy!

Ethan's 6th birthday party

Ethan turned 6 on september 17. He LOVES dinosaurs, so we had a dinosaur theme. Auntie Laura made the wonderful cake, which Ethan was thrilled about!

Ethan wanted a dinosaur theme for his party, so we had a fossil dig in the back yard. It was alot of fun. The fossils were made out of coffee grounds, salt, flour, and water.

An Ethanism

Today it was Ethan's turn for show and tell in kindergarten. He wanted to bring a picture of him as a baby and one of Granny and Grandpa. I asked him how it went. He said "Mom, I felt really good about myself today, and I was really loving God"!

Dress Up Brides

Ethan, Sophie, and Levi LOVE to dress up! The big problem with this though, is that it is always at the same time. I caught the three of them sharing one bridle outfit, very graciously I might add. Levi only wanted the shoes.

New Names!

The other morning over breakfast, Sophie had a new idea. She said, ''Mommy, I think you and Daddy should have new names''! I asked her what our new names should be. She said, ''Well, Daddy is now called Mr. Fix it, and you are called Pancake Server''! We all shared a laugh.

Ethan and Sophie's first Swimming lesson!

The kids loved the starfish float, as you can see.

Cousin Sarah was also in lessons, so they were able to watch eachother. I definately see olympic potential in these three!

I wanted to share the following song with all of you. It spoke to me beyond compare. I often worry about being perfect. Are my photos good enough for this blog. Does everyone have to be smiling all the time? This song reminds me to look to Jesus for everything! Thankyou for reading our real life blog. We love sharing it with you! I hope this song speaks to you.

"Sacred" by Caedmon's Call

this house is a good mess
it's the proof of life
no way would I trade jobs
but it don't pay overtime

I'll get to the laundry
I don't know when
I'm saying a prayer tonight
cause tomorrow it starts again

could it be that everything is sacred?
and all this time
everything I've dreamed of
has been right before my eyes

the children are sleeping
but they're running through my mind
the sun makes them happy
and the music makes them unwind

my cup runneth over
and I worry about the stain
teach me to run to you
like they run to me for every little thing

when I forget to drink from you
I can feel the banks harden
Lord, make me like a stream
to feed the garden

wake up, little sleeper
the Lord, God Almighty
made your mama keeper
so rise and shine
rise and shine cause

everything is sacred
and all this time
everything that I've dreamed of
has been right before my eyes.

A Very Happy Birthday!!!

My dear sister Laura suprised me with a wonderful suprise lunch. For those of you who know me well, you know that my favorite restaurant is Pagliaccis in Victoria B.C. I have been missing their food like crazy! Laura made me the most amazing lunch. She started off with an amazing salad, full of chickpeas and veggies. My favorite salad dressing went right along with it, yogurt dill. Hemmingway Short Story was the pasta dish. This was full of rich cream, bacon, tortelini, cheese etc. You get the picture. The bread was delicous as well. My favorite part of the meal was the dessert. Turtle pie in all it's glory was devoured by us all. Laura is so talented in the kitchen as well as many other areas. Thankyou again for your wonderful gifts dear sister!

Pagliaccis comes to Kamloops!!!

To my faithful readers,

I am still here, and have not forgotten about my blog. Please forgive the lack of updates. Get ready for lots of catch up. Stay tuned... and thankyou for reading.
